stress

The stress property allows you to specify the amount of stress to give to parts of sentences. You can enter a number between 0 and 100. A value of 50 is normal.

p {stress: 50}

It specifies the height of local peaks in the voice. English is a stressed language, and different parts of a sentence are assigned primary, secondary, or tertiary stress. English stresses different syllables and parts of the sentence to convey additional meaning to the listener.

The value of the stress property controls the amount of inflection that results from these stress markers. This property is a companion to the pitch-range property.

Keep in mind that stress levels are language-specific. For example, a level of 50 for a standard, English-speaking male voice speaking with normal intonation and emphasis would have a different meaning than 50 for an Italian voice.
