You can add a description to your page with the <meta> tag. This might be a description of the company or a description of the contents of your site: <meta name="description" content="An introduction to HTML, CSS, DHTML and XHTML. HTML Reference Guide"> Search engines use the description when they index your pages and display it on the results page of a search. The description replaces the summary the search engine creates for your page if you do not give a description. It may well decide whether someone chooses to visit your page or not. |
