Using filters

The filter properties aren't part of the any specification. Microsoft has developed these properties and they only work with Internet Explore 4.0 and above. You can use them to create multimedia effects, either by themselves or with a script. The aim is to provide effects that you can usually only get with a graphic. Scripts allow you to change the filters dynamically without reloading the page.

You can use filters in several ways:

• The Visual filters allow you to manipulate text and pictures to create multimedia effects on the screen.
• The Reveal transition filters allow you to show or hide visual objects
• The Blend transition filters perform a fade in or out
• The page and site transitions play when a page loads or unloads or when you enter or leave a site
