You can add links to any of your pages so that you can move about from page to page with the click of the mouse. This is at the very heart of the internet; a link is any text or picture that loads another page, another part of the current page or another web resource when you click on it. Use the <a> and </a> tags to create links. The <a> tag is often called an anchor. The <a> tag marks where the link starts and the </a> marks the end of the link. You should put the text that you want users to click inside the tags. The text inside the link usually appears underlined and in a different colour in the browser. You could, however, use an image rather than text as a link, create a link to another web protocol for example, to send e-mail or run a file transfer session. Finally, you can also choose where to display the destination page. Often, this is in the same window but you can open a new window if you want to. |
