1.3 Provide an auditory description of the visual track of a multi-media presentation

Auditory descriptions of the visual track provide narration of the key visual elements without interfering with the audio or dialogue of a movie. They provide information about the action, body language, graphics, and scene changes in the video. Auditory descriptions are used primarily by people who are blind to follow the action and other non-auditory information in video material.

Note. If there is no important visual information, for example, an animated talking head that describes (through pre-recorded speech) how to use the site, then an auditory description is not necessary.

You can present the auditory description as pre-recorded or synthesised speech. Synchronise the auditory descriptions with the original audio.

Note: When you use video clips, you should also provide captions or a transcription as well as an auditory description of important visual information.
